Vatted Stout Porter 1864 - 8.2%, 750ml
Aged to Perfection
This rich, dark ale was matured in oak to develop a deep, layered profile. Expect a balanced interplay of dark chocolate aroma, roasted malt bitterness, and a touch of light fruitiness and sharp acidity. To elevate complexity, it’s blended with fresh Export Stout—a classic 19th-century technique used by Victorian brewers to marry brightness and depth.
A Nod to Victorian Brewing
This beer is brewed in the spirit of mid-19th-century vatted stouts, where aging in wooden vessels allowed natural wild yeasts to interact with the beer over time. Our nine-month fermentation in a 5,000-litre oak foeder gives the beer a subtle wild character, adding to the richness of its flavour profile.
